International Journal of Health and Nutritional Studies
peer-reviewed titles across every discipline, from flagship journals to focused specialist publications.
Ethical Approvals and Informed Consent
This policy applies to manuscripts submitted to International Journal of Health and Nutritional Studies that report research involving people, their data or their tissue.
Ethical approval
The manuscript must name the ethics committee or institutional review board that approved the study and give the approval number. If the study was exempt, the manuscript states who granted the exemption and why.
Informed consent
- Participants, or their legal guardians, must have given informed consent to take part, and the manuscript must say so.
- Written consent to publication is required for any text, image or detail that could identify a person. Authors keep the consent forms and provide them to the editor on request.
- Extra care is required for research involving children and other people who may be unable to give consent freely.
Surveys, interviews and existing data
Studies using questionnaires, interviews or existing records also need the approval or exemption required by the authors' institution.
