Reviewer Guidelines

These guidelines are for reviewers of International Journal of Life Sciences and Biotechnology.

Before accepting an invitation

  • Accept only if the manuscript is within your expertise and you can meet the deadline.
  • Decline, and tell the editor why, if you have a conflict of interest. See the conflict of interest policy for reviewers.

Writing the review

  • Originality: Does the work add something new?
  • Methods: Are the design and analysis appropriate and described well enough to be repeated?
  • Results and conclusions: Are the conclusions supported by the data?
  • Presentation: Is the manuscript clear and well organised?
  • Ethics: Are there concerns about approval, consent, plagiarism or data integrity?

Be specific and constructive. Number your points, separate essential changes from suggestions, and keep remarks about the work, not the authors.

Confidentiality

Manuscripts under review are confidential. Do not share them, use their content in your own work, or upload them to any AI tool. See the Generative AI Policy.
