International Journal of Music

peer-reviewed titles across every discipline, from flagship journals to focused specialist publications.

Article Processing Charges

International Journal of Music is an open-access journal: readers pay nothing, and the cost of publishing is covered by an Article Processing Charge (APC) paid by the authors or their funder once a manuscript has been accepted. There is no submission fee, and rejected manuscripts are never charged.

Charges

The charge depends on the corresponding author's country, by World Bank income group, and on the article type. Amounts are in US dollars.

Country income groupResearchReviewCase-basedShort communication
High income$1,079$879$779$579
Middle income$779$579$479$379
Low income$579$379$279$179

Optional English-language editing is charged separately at $179; see English Language Editing.

Waivers

A full waiver is available to authors from low-income countries, to authors who can show financial hardship or have no funding, and to students and early-career researchers without independent support. Ask for a waiver when you submit, with a short explanation. The decision is made before peer review, so an author's ability to pay has no bearing on the editorial decision.

Payment

Payment is requested only after acceptance and can be made by card through a secure gateway or by bank transfer. Questions about charges and waivers can be sent to trpub.online@gmail.com.
